Time Freight launches Bulk Express and Service Improvement

October 17, 2013

On 12th August 2013 Time Freight launched two new bulk express runs – in the form of two additional express service options that will operate between Johannesburg and Cape Town, and Cape Town and Durban.

These new service options will offer clients an express delivery for bulkier consolidated consignments of 200kgs and above. In addition to this Time Freight can now offer an improved next day direct service for normal freight out of Durban for Bloemfontein and vice versa.

Launching this initiative was a significant project and Time Freight has introduced six new horse and trailer vehicles to give effect to the logistic requirements of this new service. The Durban/Cape Town route will operate via Bloemfontein, which reduces driving time by four to five hours compared to using the N2 coastal route. The additional Cape Town Johannesburg service route will follow the traditional N1 route.

Time Freight identified a gap in the bulk express market and now offers clients a much more attractive and competitive rate. The improved service between Bloemfontein and Durban is offered at normal rates.
